Wiimote & Wiimote plus know the difference

Wiimote & Wiimote plus, know the difference

Since the Wiimote was revealed it saw many major and minor changes, some of these changes affects the gameplay, other changes affects the outside Appearance, Nintendo tweaked its Wii controller during the past years making its performance better and more accurate, in this post I’m going to talk about the difference between the Wiimote versions.

Nintendo displayed the original version of the Wiimote in the E3 2006 after adding some changes to its buttons names, the colors of the wiimote showed then were white, black, and blue, while there were four colors in the images before the E3 (white, lime, silver, red), the wiimote hit the market with only the white color, in the 2009 Nintendo released a black wiimote along with a black nunchuk, pink and blue wiimotes released in the same year.

Away from colors, the motionplus, which is a wiimote extension enhances the accuracy of motion sensing was released with the game Wii sports resort, it was annoying to buy a motion plus to play few games, untill now there are only five games that require motion plus to play them while in other games it’s optional, that’s why Nintendo released a new wiimote with built-in motion plus called it Wiimote plus.

The Wii U is going to support the Wiimote plus, but it won’t have support for the old wiimote without the motion plus, be sure to know the difference between the wiimote versions when buying one.

What about third party wii controllers, are they going to be compatible with the Wii U or not, it’s not clear if third party wii controllers a going to be compatible with the Wii U, it may be a problem for those who has those kinds of controllers even if they have the motion plus feature.
